Star jockey Ben Melham’s mother, Mandy, has been banned from attending races in Victoria.
Racing Victoria has added the Ballarat-based Mandy Melham to its disqualified persons list while an investigation into a purchase of a horse remains active.
The investigation centres around an issue with documentation of the purchased horse, where it is alleged Mandy Melham did not pass on the official paperwork to stewards.

She was subsequently put on the disqualified persons list in May this year.
Ben Melham, 38, is a Group 1 winning jockey and saluted in the $2 million Blue Diamond earlier this year.
He is famously married to Jamie Melham (formerly Jamie Kah), who made history last year when she won the Melbourne Cup.
There is no suggestion Ben or Jamie know anything or have anything to do with the investigation into Mandy Melham.
Mandy will now be unable to watch live Ben and Jamie race in any of the upcoming Spring Carnival events in Melbourne where it is expected both jockeys will have top rides in big races.
As well as not being able to attend the races, she cannot race horses in her own name, and she is also banned from betting on horse races.
She can, however, have her name removed from the disqualified persons list if she complies with the requests from stewards.
She also has the right to appeal to the Victorian Racing Tribunal.
Other names on Racing Victoria’s disqualified persons list are Bill Vlahos and Mark Dosen.
The 60-year-old Vlahos was behind a betting scam called The Edge and spent time in jail after defrauding friends and family and others of millions.
Dosen has also spent time in jail for a variety of crimes, including convictions for blackmail, kidnapping, fraud, aggravated burglary and recklessly causing injury.
